CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM AT THE 5TH TBILISI BIENNALE OF STAGE DESIGN
The Valerian Gunia Union of Young Theatre Artists – OISTAT National Center of Georgia announces an open call for applications to participate in the Tbilisi International Biennale of Stage Design 2024. The International Symposium will be held in a hybrid format from September 30th to October 2nd, 2024, as part of the 5th International Biennale of Stage Design in Tbilisi 2024. The symposium’s theme is “Culture and Crises,” aiming to explore the impact of crises on culture and theater, including recent events such as the Covid-19 pandemic, conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, and political crises challenging democratic norms. Topics of discussion include the impact of internal and external crises on culture, the role of theater during crises, and creative experiences amid crises. The working language is English.
Location: National Library of the Parliament of Georgia, Tbilisi, Lado Gudiashvili St. #7
Conditions for participation in the international symposium: The symposium will have a hybrid format, and artists, researchers, art managers, and anyone working in the visual and performing arts are welcome to participate. Participation is free.
