Izabela Stronias
Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź and the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. The fields of her artistic activity are theater and film set design and costumes, and painting. Designs sets and costumes for drama theaters, operas and ballet performances, as well as television theater, feature films and music videos. She cooperates with, among others, the Grand Theater in Łódź, the Grand Theater in Poznań, and the Opera Bałtycka, Musical Theater in Lublin, Musical Theater in Gdynia, Polish Theater in Wrocław, Teatr im. Stefan Jaracz in Łódź, the New Theater in Poznań, the Polish Theater in Poznań, Teatr Nowy im. Kazimierz Dejmek in Łódź, Dramatic Theater in Warsaw, Polish Theater in Poznań, Wierszalin Theater in Supraśl, Logos Theater in Łódź, Biuro Theater Personal Effects in Gdynia and others. She collaborated with Polish, French, Chinese and German directors. She is the author of costumes for Polish and foreign feature films. She received three Golden Masks for her theater work – for costumes for the play Intrigue and Love – Jaracz Theater in Łódź, for the set design and costumes for the play Kobro – Teatr Nowy in Łódź, for set design and costumes for the opera Semele – Grand Theater in Łódź. For costumes for a feature film The Butler, directed by Filip Bajon, received the Polish Film Academy Orzeł 2019 award.
Izabela Stronias’s painting work and her artistic installations were recently presented in the Gallery Sisley in Paris, the National Museum in Lviv and the Chimera Municipal Gallery in Łódź. Ph.D. Izabela Stronias, a professor at the university, heads the Theater and Film Costume Studio at Academy of Fine Arts Władysław Strzemiński in Łódź.
