Zhong Wanjing
ZHONG Wanjing graduated from the Fine Arts School Affiliated to China Central Academy of Fine Arts and then majored in Stage Art Design at the Central Academy of Drama. She is the art designer at Wuxi Opera House, specializing in Chinese traditional Opera art design.
Her portfolio includes a diverse range of works, spanning Chinese Traditional KunquOpera, Chinese Traditional Xi Opera, Chinese Traditional Dian Opera, and Chinese Traditional Suzhou Opera. Notable productions she has designed include: “Samadhi in the Bamboo Grove”; “Legend of the White Snake”; “Linked Rings”; “Fifteen Strings of Cash”; “Painting the Zhu”; “Matchmaker”; “Pipa Play- West Chamber Story”; “Laundering the Silken Gauze”; “Iron Crown”; “Six Records of a Floating Life”; “A Sigh of a Thousand Years”; “Jade Hairpin”; “Fisherman’s Joy”; “Embroidered Robe”; “Splendid Jiangnan”; “Rotten Chestnut Hill”; “A Dream of Red Mansions”; “Lovelorn Pear Blossom”, “Chat from Liaozhai– Purple Tail”; “Pearl Tower”; “Romance in the Husk,” “Flower Girl,” etc.
Additionally, she has lent her talents to a variety of art forms, including the children’s play “Nezha Fights the Dragon King,” the drama “Coming and Going,” and the modern drama “Jiang Jie.”
Her exceptional stage design has earned her numerous accolades, including the Wenhua Award of Jiangsu Province, Wenhua Award of Suzhou City; Excellent Drama Award and Best Art Design Award of the Second and Third Zijin Small Theater Unit in Jiangsu Province; Excellent Drama Award of Zijin Heroes of Jiangsu Province; Excellent Drama Award of “Drama China” National Small Drama Excellence; Excellent Drama Award and Excellent Arts Design Award of the Fourth and Fifth Provincial Small Drama and Small Play Contest of Jiangsu Province, etc.
