Luo Yazhuo
Graduated from the Stage Art Design Major of the Central Academy of Drama. He is a Chinese national second-grade stage art designer, a member of China Institute of Stage Design, a guest lecturer at the Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University, and a special guest at the Beijing Design Week Forum.
His dance theater work Painted Skin: Return to Dust was invited to the “Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space” in 2019, and he participated in stage art design of the closing ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. In 2023, his drama work Searching for Taste won the Outstanding Play at the 18th China Theatre Festival. In 2024, he collaborated with the renowned director Lu Chuan on dance theater work Heavenly Creations, which received funding from China National Arts Fund.
His creations range from stage performances, concerts to large-scale live-action resident shows, with no limitations on subject or scale. He emphasizes cross-lingual and cross-cultural creative expressions, offering audiences brand-new visual sensations. Through over 15 years of professional endeavors, he strives to extract from texts and visually express them in a manner that aligns with current aesthetics and contemporary language, thereby creating unique stage presentations.
