Cao Can

Cao Can is a lecturer at Shandong University of Art & Design, majoring in Costume and Makeup Design. She graduated from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts with a Bachelor of Fine degree in makeup design and a Master of Arts degree in costume design.

She specializes in contemporary Costume and Makeup Design for Chinese theatre arts. Her recent projects include Blooming Jasmine, Little Joy，Seng Yao，The Official of Trench，Letter from an Unknown Woman, children’s dramas Spray of waves ,etc. Among them, “Letter from an Unknown Woman” was invited to participate in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in the UK. ‘Little Joy’ was granted funding from the 2024 National Art Fund. Her costume design work “Ink” and “ Zhao Jun Chu Sai” were exhibited at the USITT Conference & stage expo.
