Wu Yuqiao
Wu Yuqiao is a lecturer at Nanjing University of the Arts. She focuses on the creation and research of stage design, public art, and social design. She graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University with a double bachelor’s degree in visual communication and German, and a master’s degree in stage design from the University of Art and Design Offenbach in Germany.
She is a cross-disciplinary designer. As a stage designer, she has completed the stage and costume design of the dramas “The Trial” and “Reynard the Fox” for Hessisches Landestheater Marburg and Frankfurt Fliegende Theater. After returning to China, her stage design works include: the dance drama “A Thousand Clear Blue Era-Dancing with the People” which was selected into the dance drama unit of the National Arts Fund; the musical “A Drop in the Ocean” and the drama“View from the Bridge” won the Best Stage Design Award of the 1st. and 4th. Zijin Culture&Art Festival in Jiangsu Province; “Peer Gynt” performed at the 15th International Ibsen Conference; “Hometown”; “Things I Know To Be True“; “Qu Qiubai”; “Mother Courage and Her Children”; “Bauhaus,“ etc.
As an installation artist, her works have been exhibited in numerous contemporary art exhibitions locally and abroad. Her installation work “0.1786:1.29” was exhibited at the Fasanerie Castle Fulda;“Die Regnende Erinnerung” and “Das Treffen” were successively reported in Frankfurt general newspaper. After returning to China, her dynamic sculpture work “Yun Shao Shuang Ming” was selected for the 14th National Art Exhibition; “Fishermen’s Songs at Dusk” was exhibited and permanently collected in Wuxi Canal Art Park; Her multi-media interactive spacial art “The memory of the Yangtze River” was invited to participate in the “This is The Yangtze River Digital Exhibition”, etc.
