The Georgian Student Section features the works of four female artists: three students from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts – NisaSamadbegishvili, NiniKeratishvili,TatiaChigradzeand a Georgian graduate of the National University of Theatre and Film “I.L. Caragiale“ in Bucharest, scenographer TinatinGobejishvili.
The exhibition includes designs for theatrical sets and costumes from realized performances, as well as fantasy costume projects from fashion design diplomas and coursework.
Despite differing methodologies, approaches, and themes, the four young artists share a common trait: an increasing intensity of dramatic vision and emotional sensitivity, which is evident in their works.
The cultural shock caused by various crises (pandemic, geopolitical, social, ecological, or existential) in the contemporary world significantly influences the reinterpretation of archetypal images, making the form-creating artistic process more sensitive and aggressive. This clearly reflects the impact of crises on culture.
The Georgian Student Exhibition is dedicated to exploring the relationship between culture and crises. It emphasizes the cause-and-effect relationship between the deconstruction of archetypes and the devaluation of values caused by crises.
