Was born on July 2, 1948, Tbilisi
Education:
1966 – graduated from Tbilisi 113- secondary school with a gold medal
1964 – graduated from the seventh year of the 4th music school, violin class
1974 – graduated from Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University, faculty of Oriental Studies with the qualifications of Turkish language and literature and Georgian language and literature teacher.
Work experience:
1975 – 2000 worked as a scientific employee in the Department of Turkology of the Institute of Oriental Studies.
1990-2000 She was giving lectures in Turkish language and literature at Ivane JavakhishviliUniversity; at the Institute of Asia and Afric , at the University “Georgia”.
2001 – Consultant for the project of transformation and strengthening of secondary and higher education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
1996 – till today she is the leading specialist of the Culture Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.Actively participates in the law-making process.
Published books. Albums and articles:
She translates novels and poetry from Turkish, English, and Russian.
2006 – She has translated from Turkish into Georgian: Nobel Prize laureate Orhan Pamuk’s novel “White Castle”.
In Different years she translated short stories by Aziz Nesin, Gureli, Adivar and others, Tahsin Sarachi’s poems and others.
2008 – She translated the history of the peoples of the North Caucasus from Georgian into Turkish.
2021 – She translated the memoirs of an unknown author, Princess Kati Dadeshkeliani’s memoirs Princess in Uniform, from English and published it together with a long Essay.
2022 – 2023 She published the records of Georgian repressed people of 1951 in Georgian and Russian languages
She is the author of about a hundred letters on the issues of Literature, History, Cultural Politics, and Education.
She is the author and curator of several projects:
2000 – Shalvsa Chikovani’s album and exhibition in the Blue Gallery – was carried out with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
2003 – “Robert Capa in Georgia”, published an album and an exhibition of Capa’s works in the Art Museum – with the support of the US Embassy.
2005 – Artist Reno Turkia, catalog and exhibition in “Muza” gallery, with the support of the Patriarchate of Georgia.
2010 – Gayane in the creativity of photo artists – exhibition, publication of a set of photos – together with the Armenian Congress of Georgia.
2011 – We Remember – an evening at the National Library – with the support of Armenian Congress of Georgia.
2011 – Catalog of the works of artist Tengiz Mikoyantz
2022 – Album of Guyane’s works – electronic version.
2016 – Architect Givi Japaridze’s album.
She is the editor of about twenty books.
It systematically prints articles in Georgian magazines and newspapers, participates in seminars and conferences, appears on radio and television. Reviews current literary, cultural, political processes.
She is a member of “Fazis” Academy.
