Education Is a graduated engineer of Architecture and she received her PhD in Scene Design from the University of Arts in Belgrade.
Experience She is associate professor at the Scen, assistant manager for projects and development and a Chair of Undergraduate Academic Studies Scene Architecture, Technique and Design, Faculty od Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, where she teaches in the course line of theatre architecture and technology, as well as technologies in scene design.
She works in the field of scene design and in the centre of her field of interests are architecture and technology of scenic spaces. She was involved in design and technical production of many performances, events and exhibited her artworks at both national and international level (Dubrovnik Summer festival, BELEF – Belgrade Summer Festival, Mikser festival, INFANT – International Festival of Alternative and New Theatre, BINA Belgrade International week of architecture, festival S.U.T.R.A. – Blend of Art, Technology, Diversity and Authenticity).
In her work she trays to connect universities and labor market in the field of theatre technology training. She worked as a technical director assistant in Belgrade International Theatre Festival BITEF. She also worked as a lecturer at Faculty of Dramatic Arts, University of Arts in Belgrade. Since 2007 she is active member of the Technology Commission in OISTAT International Organisation of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians where she was involved in many projects like Digital Theatre Words (co-editor for Serbian language) and Technical Inventions Prize (TIP). From 2014 till 2018 she was OISTAT Technology Commission Chair.
In ScenTec project that has been founded with support from the European Commission (530810-TEMPUS-1-2012-1-RS-TEMPUS-JPHES http://www.scentec.uns.ac.rs ), she worked on developing and implementing training courses for theatre technicians and stage managers. The focus of this project is aimed towards improving health, safety and creative standards in theatres and public venues.
She collaborated together with Dobrivoje Milijanović and Aleksandra Pešterac in numerous projects, as Scentec project 2012-2016 where they were developing courses for theatre technicians and stage managers (http://www.scentec.uns.ac.rs ), Student exhibition of Serbia at the Prague Quadrennial in 2015 when Serbian team won the golden medal for provoking a dialogue (http://www.scen.uns.ac.rs/eng/?p=6007 ) and 2019 (http://www.scen.uns.ac.rs/eng/ ). At the Faculty of technical Sciences they are also teaching together – Romana and Dobrivoje at the subject Scene techniques and Scene technique and technology, and Romana and Aleksandra at the course line of architecture and technology of the theatre. She played basketball for the pioneer, cadet, junior and junior national teams of Yugoslavia.
